YouGov polling union members

A possibly intriguing development in the world of polling is that YouGov have started asking their BrandIndex panel about membership of various trade unions.

Very little polling has been done on trade union members and as the affiliated unions have a third of the electoral college in the leadership and deputy leadership elections this is quite significant. If YouGov build up a panel of union members, this could be an interesting resource both for the unions themselves and for polling on the Labour elections.

The Daily recommends getting on the YouGov panel if you want your views taken in to account in polls of Party and union members. Plus, you can earn a bit of cash. If you sign up here then this correspondent even gets a small bonus, which will be donated to a good cause.
