NHS sell-off scandal

News breaks late in the day that the Government has signed an extremely controversial contract with German post subsidiary DHL to supply goods and equipment to the NHS.

The contract is reportedly worth £1.5 bn and will deliver £22 bn over ten years.

The contracting is supposedly going to bring greater efficiency, but there are widespread fears that it will result in a deterioration of services and savings at the expense of thousands of NHS staff.

It’s also extremely worrying because it marks yet another phase in the privatisation by stealth of the NHS.
