There as more bad news for Joe Lieberman as an Ipsos poll found that the war is the greatest problem facing the USA. Lieberman has been under huge pressure for his staunchly pro-war, pro-Bush position and looks like he could actualy loose the Democratic nomination for Senate in the Connecticut primary, which happens on August 8th.
The poll found that 31% of registered Democrats thought that war is the greatest problem facing the US. This was followed by the economy, cited by 14% of Democrats interviewed.
Interestingly, war was also the answer given by most Republicans (18%) followed by immigration, which also splits the GOP. November’s mid-term elections will be a test to see whether the Democrats can capitalise on the discontent felt by many at the failing Bush administration and his Republican supporters, and turn it into majorities in the House and Senate.
